Cricket Wireless - HIDDEN FEE'S! - Cricket Wireless Service Plans

$10 service charge per month to tether device with internet! Already paid $65 for upgraded unlimited internet! Now, to use it with my device's I need to pay hidden fee for service to operate longer than one minute and to download photos! Discovered this upon accessing internet on device! Customers need to realize even at the only corporate store located in San Diego most will experience questionable customer service and LONG waits in line. We were over-charged for the device we purchased by $40 and didn't realize until checking the receipt outside the store.

Lizzie17, you are incorrect... tethering to a single device incompatible with access to unlimited data and using as mobile hotspot for multiple devices ARE two different things. They advertise unlimited internet, however none of the devices are 100% flash/java compatible... therefore to view mobile data from sources that don't provide that limited support requires another device, doesn't it? Yes, it does... conveniently grouped together in the same service that I personally clarified numerous times with the sales agent. They looked at me like a deer in headlights, and said whatever was required to make the sale. (I have the entire transacton video recorded, using an actual droid device unlike what was sold in the stores... and submitted now for review to the BBB. I wasn't going to previously, but your lack of insight compelled me.)

Might I suggest, take more time hiring and training qualified sales associates that have a glimmer of understanding about their products, services, and HIDDEN FEE's when asked... rather than trying to justify the disatisfaction experienced by the consumer as their fault. That the consumer failed to ask the appropriate question using laymen's terminology.

Charges for tethering services?!?! ABSURD Lizzie! Now there is an extra fee to manually backup my data??? I bet you couldn't demonstrate to a droid user how to toggle ciphering, or a DNS check... or even probably know what that means. But while you're struggling let's admit that Cricket limits the use of the phones sold even if it is sold with unlimited data, the device will not be able to access unlimited data and the consumer will be required to pay extra fee's in order to "free" all the limitations Cricket imposes on their smartphones. If a user subscribes with ANY OTHER PROVIDER, there is no restriction on tethering usage.

Long story short to those of you reading this; when the consumer is more knowledgable than their sales team, why would you do business with a company attempting to justify why their consumers experienced poor services and inadequate product support? No one would.

Basically, accessing internet using your phone is unlimited but if you're going to use your phone as a hotspot to a different device that's a different story. Cricket will not charge you for tethering service if you did not request the service to be added on your account. Before cricket adds additional service or feature the system will ask for a payment upfront. So without customer permission adding service or feature is not possible.
